"I Can" Visual & Performing Arts Summer camp

Visual & Performing Arts Summer Program!

Our 3-week I Can camp invites young artists, ages 8–17, to explore the dynamic world of performing arts through dance, music, and drama. 

Designed to ignite creativity and build confidence, this camp provides a supportive and fun environment for campers to discover and develop their unique talents.   

Dance: 

• Learn diverse styles such as jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, and ballet.  
• Daily choreography sessions culminating in group dance performances.  
• Workshops on self-expression through movement and stage presence.  

Music:

• Group singing sessions, including vocal technique and harmony-building.  
• Choir collaborations on choral arrangements and perform as a united group.   
• Songwriting and composition activities encourage creative collaboration.  

Drama: 

• Acting workshops that explore character development, improv, and storytelling.  
• Script reading and scene work to enhance performance skills.  
• Costume and set design activities for a behind-the-scenes perspective.  

Visual Arts: 

• Experiment with various mediums, such as painting, drawing, and crafts.  
• Create unique artwork inspired by camp themes and personal expression.  
• Collaborate on visual designs that complement performances, like set backdrops or props.  

Dates: June 9th – June 28th

             Monday through Friday, for 3 weeks.  

Time: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (extended care available).   

Final Week Showcase: Saturday June 28th

A live performance for families and the community, featuring original productions created by the campers.  

Goals:   

• Help campers gain skills in visual and performing arts disciplines.  
• Foster teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence.  
• Create a platform for campers to shine on stage in collaborative production.  

Additional Features:  

• Daily snacks and meals provided.  
• Guest appearances by local artists and professionals.  
• Fun and social activities to build friendships. 
• Develop a theme for the final performance that ties all the disciplines.
